The Islamic Centre for the Physically Handicapped at Doolmala, Thihariya provides full time education, vocational training, rehabilitation, food, accommodation, and medical care to hearing impaired, visually impaired and physically handicapped students and students with learning difficulties. from primary to secondary level. ICPH was established on 3 rd May 1984, in a rented house with 1 teacher and 5 students, and has gradually absorted more than 250 students and 40 members of staff at present.Thihariya is a Muslim village in the Attanagalla Electorate in the Gampaha District of Srilanka on the Colombo Kandy high way. The Centre is located on a land of about 4 acres in a hamlet called Doolmala, which is about 2 kilometers from the high way. This village is easily accessible, as there is a regular bus service to Thihariya from both directions of the main road while a feeder service from the main road allows for commuters to travel to Doolmala and the surrounding villages.
